Those whose monies were locked after Chase bank was put under receivership by Central Bank will get access to their cash next week.
The bank is scheduled to re-open next week under the management of Kenya Commercial Bank, KCB.
Those who deposited with the bank have undergone a rough time for the past two weeks. They have probably learnt a lesson that they will never forget.
They say once bitten twice shy. Many who deposited with Chase bank will shy away and develop a cold feet towards banking with it even if it re-opens under new management.
It will take courageous, depositors to stick with the bank. There are those who could not pay their bills anymore. Some even had to relocate to cheaper houses after they could not pay their house rents.
Some had to relocate their children to cheaper schools. The torture that comes with being denied your hard-earned cash is insurmountable.
As Chase bank gears towards re-opening, it should also prepare to start looking for new customers.
