One man was on Thursday morning stabbed to death at Riorutwa village in Kisii county over a glass of beer.
It is said that Mr Erick Ondicho and Mr Ezekiah Nyabayo broke into a battle after a disagreement on who should take the greater portion of the glass of chang'aa leading to a serious fight before Erick allegedly stoned his colleague to death.
The area residents claim that the cases resulting from the drinking habits are increasing day by day making the villagers live in fear of such fights within the locality.
One of the residents who witnessed the scene said that the two had begun taking their favorite drink but the disagreement came in between when they started arguing on the matter.
When the fight became so tough the other colleagues who were with the two tried to intervene but in vain as Erick got hold of a huge stone and stoned his friend.
The locals rushed him to the nearby Tabaka Mission Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The incident was confirmed by the area assistant chief Julius Ondieki.
