[Photo| Standard]Jubilee politician and former Karachuonyo Member of Parliament James Rege’s rural home in Kanjira, Karachuonyo constituency in Homa Bay county, was on Friday night attacked by rowdy youth.Reports indicate the angry youth alleged that some ballot papers were being marked inside the homestead and wanted to burn it.One person was shot dead by anti-riot police while two sustained serious injuries as police tried to contain the situation.Rege was not at home at the time of the raid.The politician's elder brother has linked the attack to politics.Rege was in the opposition team lead by Raila Odinga before defecting to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party.
Nasa supporters in the region have vowed not to allow any voting from taking place in the region.
