A Mombasa-Nairobi bound bus was on Friday morning involved in a road accident at Kinyambu in Kibwezi, Makueni county, killing one person.

This is after a truck collided head-on with the Tahmeed passenger bus, along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, leaving some passengers in panic.

Driver of the lorry died on the spot while driver and conductor of the bus sustained minor injuries.

Confirming the incident, Kibwezi deputy police boss Geoffrey Oderi said the driver and conductor were rushed to Makindu Sub-county Hospital for medication.

NTSA has since advised drivers to be careful as they drive on Kenyan roads this Easter holidays.
