One person was shot dead by anti-riot policein Makadara, Athi River during a demonstration by the opposition's supporters who were against presidential elections.

The young man, believed to be a high school student, was running an errand for his mother when he was caught up in the ensuing fight between demonstrators and the police.

"I had sent him to the shop and was wondering why he had taken so long to return.That is when his friend came to inform me of his demise..." said a very emotional mother to the departed.
