Two unfortunate incidents have now been reported in political campaign rallies involving two heavyweights Deputy President William Ruto and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

These sad incidents raise questions on the very safety of attendees at the political rallies.

On Thursday, a woman died instantly after she was run over by a bus in Kombani, Kwale county a few minutes after Deputy President William Ruto addressed locals in the area.Nnjama Mwanzala was hit while rushing to board the vehicle which was leaving the venue of the meeting, she will be buried on Friday. On the same breath, Tuesday witnessed another Kenyan hit and injured by a vehicle that formed part of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho motorcade in Changamwe.Joho halted campaigns to rush the man to the hospital.

"One of us has been hit by a car let us stop here and attend to him. We must see if he has been injured," Joho said.
