The 5 am incident left at least seven passengers seriously injured.

Confirming the incident, Coast regional traffic commander Emmanuel Okanda said investigations have been launched to establish the real cause of the accident.

Changamwe OCPD Peter Omanwa asked drivers to be cautious along the Kibarani stretch to avoid accidents. 

The accident comes weeks after a train transporting crude oil was involved in an accident near Kibarani, creating huge traffic snarl-up.
