Two others, the driver and his conductor, sustained serious injuries, and are admitted at Kijabe Mission hospital.

According to eye witnesses, the accident happened after the driver lost control as he tried to give way to an overtaking truck near a bend, losing control and rolling several times.

“The driver was speeding. Another lorry that was driving towards the same direction tried to overtake on a sharp bend. The driver lost control and veered off the road and rolled several times,” an eye witness said.

The accident occurred at a notorious spot, bordering Nakuru County and Kiambu County.

Lari police boss Alfred Makoma confirmed the incident, and identified the deceased as Salome Wanjiku.

The body was taken to Naivasha District Hospital mortuary, while the injured were rushed to the nearby Kijabe Mission Hospital where they are recuperating.

Drivers have been advised to exercise caution on the roads, especially during this rainy season when the area around that region is mostly foggy.

“We urge drivers to be careful since most roads are accident prone during this season. Drive slowly and consider other road users to avert accidents that can be prevented,” Makoma urged motorists.
