A police officer died and 15 others were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in rolled along Elwak- Kutulo road in Mandera.
The driver of the vehicle was speeding when he lost control on Monday afternoon owing to the heavy rains that are being experienced in the region.
The injuries were rushed to various hospitals in the county for treatment.
The accident comes after on August 3, Al Shabaab killed a police officer and injured another in terror attacks at two police camps in Lafey, Mandera county.
Mandera County is among the North Eastern counties that have been targeted by Al Shabaab militants.
