A woman was killed Friday afternoon after supporters of rival Jubilee and NASA political outfits clashed in Bungoma town.
The woman, whose details police are yet to revealed, was allegedly hit by a stray bullet from police.
Trouble began after supporters of Jubilee and Ford Kenya gubernatorial aspirants clashed in the Bungoma town centre.
This was moments after Ford Kenya's Wycliffe Wangamati was cleared by the IEBC and was enroute to the Bungoma Bus Park where he was set to address residents.
But Wangamati's supporters clashed with those of incumbent Governor Ken Lusaka from the Jubilee side.
Lusaka and Wangamati were both whisked away by their bodyguards, with the former heading to Posta Grounds while the NASA aspirant headed out of town.
"We would like to have a peaceful campaign. Action should be taken on those responsible," said Alfred Khang'ati, the ODM candidate.
