A boda boda rider on Thursday sustained major injuries after his bike collided head-on with moving Probox car at Unyaa.
According to an eyewitness, the rider was not only drunk but also reckless before he was involved in the accident along the Kitui – Machakos road. The accident left the motorbike damaged beyond recognition.
The man, who identity has not been disclosed, reportedly moves into an opposite lane before ramming into the moving automobile. He was left with serious injuries on different parts of his body. The occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt following the accident. The victim was taken to Kitui County Referral Hospital for treatment.
The bike and vehicle’s wreckage were towed to Kitui Central police station as police launch investigations into the incident. The incident comes at a time when leaders and locals have been urging motorbike riders to be cautious while on the roads.
