A pedestrian was injured on Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle that lost control along the Kisumu-Busia highway.
According one of the passengers in the vehicle, the vehicle was being driven at high speed when it lost control along the highway in Maseno.
Michael Odhiambo said they owe their lives to God.
“The vehicle started speeding down the valley and we started shouting at the driver where he told us the breaks had failed.” said Mr Odhiambo.
The vehicle plunged into a ditch as it avoided a head on collision with a private car and in the process hit an elderly woman with the side mirror along the road where she suffered minor injuries.
“I heard a loud bang and I thought a car’s tire had busted and when I came out, I saw a Nissan that had plunged into a ditch.” said Grace Okoth a resident of Maseno.
The vehicle was repaired and within 45 minutes it headed to its destination, Kisumu Town.
