One person was killed in Bungoma after police opened fire to disperse Jubilee and Ford Kenya supporters.

This is after supporters of Ford Kenya's Wycliffe Wangamati lashed with Jubilee's Ken Lusaka.

The victim is said to have been a woman who was selling tomatoes and she was hit with a stray bullet.

“One person has been killed, but we have not established who shot at her,” a senior police is quoted byCapital Fm News from Bungoma.

He blamed a bodyguard to one of the candidates.

“Their guns will have to be taken away for investigations,” he said, “all those belonging to police officers deployed there at the time will also have to be examined.”

The officer said Ford Kenya’s Wangamati, had just received his nomination certificate from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and was headed to Bungoma Bus park to address a rally, when his supporters clashed with those of Lusaka leading to a confrontation that turned ugly.
