Three robbery suspects were on Thursday evening shot at by the flying squad in Kisumu West in an incident that left one dead.
Speaking on the incident, Kisumu County Commissioner Maalim Mohamed confirmed that the police got a tip off from members of the public that the three gangsters had planned to steal from a place in Mamboleo in Kisumu.
The county commissioner appealed to all health facilities that may be visited by any patient with bullet wounds to report the case to the nearest police station saying that one suspect was arrested on the spot while one escaped with bullet wounds.
The vehicle that the suspects planned to use in the botched robbery, an AK-47 rifle and nine rounds of ammunition were recovered.
