There are one million slots available for pupils who sat for the 2017 K.C.P.E, it has been revealed.
993,000 pupils sat for this years K.C.P.E which means that the slots are more than enough for them.
The revelation comes ahead of the rollout of Jubilee's campaign promise to make secondary education free.
In previous years, schools have been admitting a maximum of 600,000 students, locking out 250,000.
The slots include both private and public schools.
Specifics of the slots were revealed on Monday with the kick-off of the form 1 selection process.
It was presided over by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i who assured that all measures had been taken to guarantee fairness for all.
