Two women and an infant baby died in separate fire incidents in Nakuru this week.

 In a first incident on Tuesday night a 74-year-old Alice Chelang`ata and her daughter Emily Chepkoech, 37, were sleeping in their house at Weseges, Subukia, when a fire broke out.

Neighbors said they could not safe the lives of the two since fire flames spread too fast.

In a second incident, at Total area  in Kuresoi North, a one-month-old baby died after their house caught fire. 

Her mother had stepped out of the house when the fire broke. ​
