The Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka will serve for only a term as the president of the country if elected in the 2017 elections.
According to Hassan Omar, Wiper’s secretary general, CORD wants each co principal to, at least, get a chance to rule. He spoke this on Wednesday when he appeared on an interview on Citizen TV’s morning show, ‘‘Cheche live.’’
‘‘We will support Kalonzo Musyoka if elected CORD’s flag bearer. However, he will only lead the nation for one term. What we are doing in CORD is that we want to ensure every co- principal at least gets a term to rule. However, if Kalonzo will not be picked as the flag bearer, we will just support any person picked,’’ said Omar.
He revealed that CORD was eying Statehouse but said the coalition will only reach there if it remains focused.
‘‘We all know that we want to lead this country. The only way we will help each other is by uniting. We have decided as CORD coalition to remain united. This will be easier for us to win,’’ said Omar.
