The Court of Appeal ruling against the win of Governor Alfred Mutua seemed to have ended his reign as the Machakos Governor. Dr. Mutua, the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader’s ambitions to become the Kenyan president in 2022 seems to be hitting a hard rock, if he doesn’t set things right from his home ground.
However, it is no doubt Dr Alfred Mutua will win the by-elections set in Machakos. The results of the by-elections will shape the future of Dr. Mutua in a great deal. Should he win, which most probably he will, he will become a political giant and a threat to many aspirants of the presidential seat come 2022.
His win in the coming Machakos gubernatorial race by-elections will mean he is vanquishing the Wiper supremo, Kalonzo Musyoka with however he has sent to compete him for the Machakos Governor’s set for the second time.
Mutua has been all over the country to preach his Maendeleo Chap Chap gospel. Last Saturday, he threatened corrupt leaders over the graft and suggested that only untainted leaders (leaders not in any corruption scandals) will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Should he win the by-elections and maintain a good relationship with the Gema community, he will probably be a big name to watch out for in the 2022 presidential race.
