Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka, Senator Chris Obure are among high-profile leaders who have openly challenged the party leadership and announced their plans to decamp.

Ong’era on Wednesday during a meeting with party women league officials in Kisii blamed the rebels for being insincere with the party and challenged them to quit officially.

“Sometimes it doesn’t make sense when someone goes announcing to the world that he or she has ditched ODM yet they are still in various positions and wrenching the party from the inside,” she said.

“Time has come for them to decamp or risk being de-whipped. We cannot tolerate people who are holding positions in the party that they do not subscribe its ideologies. They must be leave or we take action,” added the former ODM Executive Director.

Ong’era also insisted that the party remained strong despite major exits that have been witnessed in last three weeks.

“ODM is a national movement that was founded by people. People threaten to leave but in the long run they are busy seeking for forgiveness. The party is strong in Gusii and I am sure we will bag all seats that are available. Jubilee is a forgotten thing in our county,” she said.
