A Jubilee allied MP has criticized the move by Prof. Sam Ongeri's to join ODM party ahead of the elections.
Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i has said that Ongeri, who has been Kenya's ambassador to the UN habitat, is a political loser.
Tong'i stated that Ongeri has no massive support in Kisii region thus will make opposition lose Kisii region votes.
"Ongeri has no massive support in Kisii region. Him defecting to ODM/opposition from Jubilee does not guarantee opposition a win of Kisii votes ahead of the August elections. He will not win the senate seat", said Tong'i.
"It is people who elects a leader not a party. Ongeri's association with ODM or opposition has not given him a win. He has a task ahead to battle with other candidates who will by seeking the senate seat", he added.
Tong'i denied claims by opposition that Jubilee has lost support in gusii region.
