Timothy Bosire has defended the decision by immediate former Kenyan UN Habitat ambassador Sam Ongeri to join Orange Democratic Movement.

Ongeri, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta made the perhaps shocking move on Monday and was received by opposition leader Raila Odinga.

And in response to Ongeri’s critics, Bosire slammed Jubilee allied politicians from the region saying their continued support for Jubilee would not benefit the Gusii community.

“Some of these politicians say that they join Jubilee so that we get development. The constitution is very clear that no region should be sidelined when it comes to development,” Bosire said on Monday.

The ODM national treasurer who doubles as Kitutu Masaba MP added: “Ongeri left Jubilee because the government is doing absolutely nothing for our people. He has just joined a winning team.”

The veteran politicians is set to face former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae in Kisii County senatorial race later on August.

Ongeri, who served as Nyaribari Masaba MP, vowed to support Odinga’s presidential quest.
