Kisii county senator Sam Ongeri has now told the Judiciary to ensure that they increase the petition fee from Sh500,000 to Sh4 million to lock out 'jokers' from filling baseless petitions against genuine winners.
According to professor Ongeri through his lawyers in an affidavit sworn in at Kisii high court the two voters who recently filed a petition to challenge his victory are not serious as they just want to waste his time and they are not locals despite the fact that they hail from Kisii county.
Through his lawyer Okong'o mogeni and Waluke, the senator argued that the petitioners won't be able to pay him once they lose the case and therefore the residential magistrate should through away the case.
This comes at a time two kisii residents Charles Obera Orito and George Ogake filed a petition challenging Ongeri's victory.
