President Uhuru Kenyatta will not harvest votes for repeat election due next month from Gusii land, Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri has said.
Ongeri said Uhuru will not get the backing of the Abagusii community even after a delegation of 15,000 people from Kisii and Nyamira counties visited him at State House, Nakuru, on Wednesday.
"Majority of the people who were on the trip were NASA supporters who wanted to meet Uhuru in the hope they would get something in return," Ongeri said.
The Senator added: "They had also grabbed the opportunity to tour Nakuru. Uhuru should not count them as votes."
Kisii Women Representative Janet Ong'era has also dismissed the visit as inconsequential.
"Uhuru did not address a single issue concerning our people. He only, and unfairly attacked Chief Justice David Maraga and the Supreme Court for carrying out their constitutional mandate," Ong'era told the media on Thursday.
