Kisii County Senator Prof. Sam Ongeri has attacked a section of NASA leaders who are not in support of Uhuru-Raila pact.
According to Ongeri, the duo have the best interest of the nation at heart and those opposing the move such as Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula, have only self-interests that won't benefit the nation at all.
Speaking on Friday during the burial of Pro.Tumbo Oweri, Ongeri said he is the happiest man as he is sure the move by Raila will see more development projects fostered in Nyanza region and above all end the recently witnessed political temperatures that were escalating by day.
"Those opposing Raila, Uhuru's peace pact are confused and they have no good will of the nation but self interest and as leaders we won't accept that" said Ongeri.
Ongeri further pleaded with Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula to swallow their ego and fully support Raila's move as this will heal the nation.
Ongeri's sentiments comes at a time there is a rift in NASA as constituent parties have threatened each other and most recently ODM hatched plan to oust Wetangula from the Senate Minority leadership replacing him with Siaya Senator James Orengo.
