Prof Sam Ongeri a Kisii veteran politician has announced his interest to vie for the senatorial seat in 2017 elections.
The former minister in the PNU government has also endorsed Kisii county Governor James Ongwae for a second term in office.
Ongeri will face former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae who has also shown an interest to vie for the same seat.
On Friday, Ongeri accused Jubilee leaders in Kisii county for forming a group targeting the current Kisii county governor James Ongwae.
"Forming a unity group is not a solution. Members of the group only have a selfish interest against Governor Ongwae whose development record is good," said Ongeri.
He urged locals to support Ongwae for a second term stating that no one can deliver as him.
