Former UN Habitat ambassador Sam Ongeri has warned that President Uhuru Kenyatta should prepare for an inevitable defeat on August.

Ongeri, a former ally of the president ditched Jubilee for ODM and will be running for Kisii senatorial seat alongside Charles Nyachae of Jubilee.

And on Wednesday at Kisii stadium, Ongeri challenged Kenyatta to learn from political history which he says favours him.

“I was in Jubilee but because of resistance from the ground, I had to come home. The ground is hostile and Uhuru should prepare for a resounding defeat,” said Ongeri.

The former Nyaribari Masaba MP added: “II have never supported a losing side and that is an indication that Odinga shall carry the day.”

His remarks could only fit his 2007 and 2013 political stand but it cannot be used to judge his 2002 where is favourite candidate Uhuru Kenyatta, lost to Mwai Kibaki.

Odinga will face a huge political battle with Kenyatta, a repeat of 2013 where Kenyatta’s victory was upheld by the Supreme Court.
