Raising the concerns on Monday in Nairobi, the NCIC chair Mr Francis Ole Kaparo said that such cases of political zoning should never be allowed in a country that has just witnessed post-poll violence like Kenya.

"We condemn in the strongest terms possible the emerging trends of political zoning in the conduct of politics in the country. The statements made by a section of politicians this past weekend is a threat to national cohesion and tolerance. Such people should be arrested and prosecuted in the courts of law," noted Kaparo.

Kaparo's sentiments emerge at a time when the Gatundu legislator Moses Kuria is facing charges over allegations of hate speech.

Kuria is facing charges for making defamatory statements with his latest controversial statement being that 'Raila should be shot dead for peace to prevail in the country'.
