Former Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro is now challenging the election of Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang.
In the election petition filed on Wednesday, Ongoro claimed that the elections were conducted without following the laid down procedures.
She wants the court to declare the results null and void.
Ongoro now wants the court to declare that the alleged noncompliance, irregularities, and improprieties in the Ruaraka parliamentary poll were substantial and significant and that they affected the results.
The former senator wants the court to direct the electoral commission to organize and conduct a fresh parliamentary election.
Ongoro is being represented by lawyer Phillip Nyachoti
“With impunity, Kajwang contravened the rule of law and the principles of conduct of a free and fair election through the use of intimidation, coercion and improper influence of voters,” claimed Ongoro.
