CMC on Wednesday arrived at the decision after violence that saw two people killed when supporters of Ongoro and incumbent MP Tom Kajwang’ clashed.

CMC gave Ongoro an option to vie for Nairobi county Women’s Representative position. It is yet to be established if Ongoro accepted to vie for Women’s Representative post.

ODM National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson Judy Pareno announced the party will today go ahead and submit the list of aspirants to IEBC as required by law.

Pareno said the party has already written to those who have been disqualified about the decision.

“The Party is ready to conduct free, fair, credible and peaceful nominations exercise and will not condone acts of violence meted on aspirants, party election officials or party supporters,” said Pareno.

She added that NEB is already monitoring the period leading to this exercise and will act accordingly on aspirants, their supporters or any member not living up to the expectations of our party as stipulated in constitution.

Majority of those who were disqualified were on the basis of either presenting false information about their academic qualification or cases of misrepresentation.
