Kisii county governor James Ongwae has challenged the national government to help Kisii County in the construction of sugar factory in South Mugirango constituency.
Ongwae noted that Kisii county government has strategised to construct a sugar factory in South Mugirango and asked the national government to help in that construction that need a lot of money be successfully completed.
Speaking on Thursday in Kisii town when president Uhuru visited, Ongwae said there is a high demand for South Mugirango residents to have sugar factory since they have a lot of sugarcanes performs poorly in the market due to lack of a local factory.
“We need to build a sugar factory in South Mugitrango and we need help from the national government I ask President Kenyatta to intervene to help our residents who practice sugarcane farming in our county to improve the economy of the county and the country as a whole,” said Ongwae.
Ongwae also promised to work with national government to do more developments that will benefit the residents.
