Kisii Governor James Ongwae has yet again fired a warning to his county executives challenging them to implement his manifesto or 'face an axe'.

Mr Ongwae on Wednesday told reporters that the executives who failed to work in speed to implement a number of development programs would not be spared since in the long run the blame would be on him.

He said his leadership had given necessary support to all departments hence demanding for the results before his first term comes to an end in 2017.

“I have a manifesto that ought to be implemented fully before we go for elections. My leadership has given relevant support to all departments so I expect results from my executives. They must be ready to carry their own cross if they fail to implement projects in their respective departments in line with the manifesto,” he said.

He also urged the executives to be visiting rural areas to monitor the progress of some of the projects that they have initiated in their respective departments and compile the report to his office.

“They (executives) have everything they require so I don’t expect them to drag me behind. I will act by dismissing those showing little commitments. They must also visit our rural areas to monitor projects so that we get a proper feedback as government on the progress in those regions,” he added.

He also lauded MCAs for their ‘superb’ support in supporting government bills regardless of their political affiliations.
