Speaking in Kisii town after the Kisii High court upheld the win of Kisii County Woman representative Janet Ong'era, the Governor said he believes he won the race fairly.

"I plead with Kenyans to pray for me at this tough times that am facing a petition in court," said Ongwae.

Judge Justice Hellen Omondi is set to rule on the case today at 11 AM after both parties conclude their submissions.

The petition was filed by one of the area voter  Makori  Onsando through his lawyer Edward Begi.

In the petition Mr Makori argued that the elections conducted on August 8, did not comply with the Elections Act and therefore there was need for it to be nullified.

However, on Governor James Ongwae 's defense his lawyer  Okong'o  Omogeni during the hearings argued that differences in votes was not a sufficient ground to nullify the election.
