Ongwae has been facing rebellion from a number of MPs from the region who accuses him of maladministration and nepotism in management of county affairs.

Speaking at a funeral ceremony in Bobasi on Monday, Ongwae challenged county leaders to work with his government for the sake of delivering with electorates.

“Political infightings are uncalled for when we should be working for our people. It’s unfair for us to politicize development at the expense of our people,” Ongwae said.

“It’s important for all leaders to work together regardless of our political ideologies. Let us stop politicking and concentrate on delivering rather than fizzling each other for political gains,” Ongwae said calling leaders to support his leadership.

He promised quick delivery of key issues affecting the county citing infrastructure, agriculture and health as core areas he was working hard to improve.

“My government is trying to fulfill election pledges to our people among them good roads, improved health facilities and agriculture. That is what is important for us to do rather than political supremacy battles,” he said.

Ongwae is also facing stiff challenge in his bid to retain the seat from Charles Nyachae, Manson Nyamweya and Senator Chris Obure who is yet though to make his bid public.
