Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has called for unity among Kisii County leaders to spearhead development and better service delivery in the county.

Speaking when he inspected various development projects in Kitutu Chache South Sub County accompanied by area MP Richard Onyonka, Ongwae said the county is looking forward to deliver what they promised to the public.

Ongwae said they will jointly ensure that there are improved health care services, road infrastructure, education standards, and water reticulation programmes in the area.

The two who were further accompanied by Members of County Assembly (MCAs) Edward Otuke (Bogisero), Cosmas Saka (Nyakoe) Charles Nyagoto (Bogeka) Vincent Gitene (Nyatieko) and Josphine Ombati (nominated) visited Keera, Iranda and Nyaore health centers, Nyakiogiro Primary and secondary schools, St. Catherine Iranda primary and secondary, Mosocho market among other projects.

Speaking at Keera health center where he gave out water pipes for Keera water project in Nyatieko ward, Ongwae said his government will ensure revival of the stalled project to serve over 6,000 homesteads.

The governor further said that Keera heath center will be equipped and supplied with drugs to enable residents access health facilities with ease.

Ongwae and Onyonka visited St. Catherine Iranda secondary, which recorded improved performance in the last Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education, and vowed to channel enough resources to improve the school.

Ongwae said his administration has distributed Sh3 million per ward as bursary fund, adding that the amount will be increased to Sh5 million per ward in the next financial year to boost education standards in the County.

Onyonka said that he will work with the Governor to improve roads in all wards as well as build bridges to facilitate movement of goods and services.
