Kisii County governor James Ongwae on Wednesday commissioned the tarmacking of Makutano – Getare road.
The road connects Kisii with Nyamira County.
Speaking during the launching of the road, Governor Ongwae said the road is under the national government but the county decided to take up the project so that it helps in reducing congestion on the main Kisii – Nyamira road.
"Once the construction of the road is complete, motorists can be able to use it because it is a shortcut route to Nyamira," said the ODM governor.
He also asked the contractor who was warded the tendor to work well as laziness would not condoned.
Governor Ongwae threatened that the contractor will not get paid if he does a shoddy job.
"I will personally be supervising how the construction of the road is going on. If you do a badd job be assured that you will not be paid," said Ongwae.
