Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has said that during the three years he has been in power, the county has achieved a lot in terms of development.
While addressing a group of residents drawn from various sub counties in Kisii County at a local hotel today said his administration has seen great improvement in many key sectors, including health, education and water.
“There is no doubt that health institutions in the county are well equipped and mothers no longer travel long distances in search of maternal health services and all hospitals have been renovated allowing more patients to get good services,” he added.
He called upon other elected leaders to stop politicising development projects and instead join him in improving lives of the area residents.
The governor claimed that in the recent few months he has been facing opposition from some elective leaders who don’t want to see the residents benefit from the devolution.
“We need to join hand to ensure that we bring development projects close to residents therefore I need all leaders to join me in doing this,” he added.
He called upon the residents to ensure that they elect in leaders who deliver instead of voting for leaders with personal interest.
