Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has denied claims that he is in fights with Dagoretti South Member of parliament Simba Arati over his recent political moves in Kisii County.
Governor Ongwae accused a section of leaders from the region as well as the media for trying to personalise and create a rift between him and the city politician.
"I appreciate the fact that Simba Arati is focused towards ensuring that there is unity among the people of Kisii in both Nairobi and Kisii Counties and I would like to state that we have no political differences but instead am looking forward towards working together so that we can empower our people," said Governor Ongwae.
Governor Ongwae further said that he recognised all leaders whose main aim was doing all it takes to empower the people of Gusii.
He said that he personally appreciated what Mr Arati was doing.
The statements by the governor come at a time when his Deputy Joash Maangi rubbished off Mr Arati political moves and the only Gusii spokesperson was Governor Ongwae.
