Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has extended an olive branch to his political nemesis following a high court decision to uphold his election victory on Tuesday and said he is willing to work with each and every leader in the County regardless of political difference.
The governor at the same time called on all elected leaders in the county to work as a team, adding that he would want to leave a fair legacy at the expiry of his term.
Ongwae said that with the election petition now over, he was ready to join hands with all MPs and MCas and other leaders to develop the county.
The governor was speaking at his village home on Wednesday while addressing his supporters who had gathered to congratulate him for emerging victorious in the court battle.
His sentiments come barely a day after the Kisii high court, through Lady Justice Hellen Omondi upheld Ongwae’s win saying the petitioner did not provide sufficient evidence to warrant nullification of Governor Ongwae's August 8th.
She slapped the petitioner with a Sh 5 million cost, to be paid to Ongwae but ordered nothing to be paid to IEBC and its officials since they committed mistakes that however did not warrant the nullification of the election.
Ongwae said that with the elections over, he was now focused on service delivery adding that his administration will not discriminate on anybody.
“I will serve all equally, whether you supported Jubilee or NASA and I want to ensure that we work together with other leaders to realize our development agenda ” he said
