Speaking Friday to journalists at the Kisii Cultural Centre, Ongwae said devolution has done much for the county and thus it is here to stay.

The Governor cited several examples among them the health department which he noted had improved, promising further developments among them ensuring each middle-level health centre gets a clinical doctor.

Regarding the transport sector, the county boss said his administration had done a lot to improve road network. He said already, roads in 29 wards have undergone a facelift while the remaining 16 will be addressed too.

"We will not work on only one road will  several at a time," said Ongwae said.

The issue of water reticulation projects also came up where he promised that the county government is working on several water points within the 45 wards in the region.

He asked residents also to make use of the 24-hour economy with the availability of streetlights and promised to erect more street lights to other markets to add to the already serviced 60 markets.

He also thanked the residents of Kisii County for their continuous support for devolution.
