Following high political temperatures in Kisii Gubernatorial seat with three candidates seeking to unset Governor James Ongwae, the incumbent has come out to defend his reelection bid by saying that his first term in office was to put things in order.
Ongwae is set to face stiff competition from Senator Chris Obure, South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya, and Lumumba Nyaberi.
“As Governors, we were given a job without even an office, for this 4 years and six months we have been able to set measures of stabilising the county hence we need a second chance so that we can complete development projects,” said Ongwae.
Ongwae was addressing residents of Nyamira and Kisii at Nyasiongo during the burial of his relative Ronald Gichana he called upon residents to give him a second chance so that he can complete all projects which he has initiated.
In many cases Obure has been criticising the leadership of Governor Ongwae for failing to addresses challenges facing residents more so allocation of funds to incomplete projects across the county.
