Kisii governor James Ongwae has received backing from two MCAs amidst growing rebellion from a number of political protagonists opposed to his regime.
The ODM Governor has been facing rebellion from a group of politicians mainly from establishment led by Senator Chris Obure and has been causing jitters in the Governor’s camp by traversing the county in the name of forging Omogusii unity.
Sameta MCA Evans Siko and his Bombaba-Borabu counterpart Koina Onyancha hailed Ongwae and insisted that he remains one of the few politicians to unite Abagusii people.
“I wonder why some people are so mad moving around in the name of uniting Omogusii yet we have a very humble Governor determined to see his people getting a fair cake. Ongwae is the undisputed Gusii kingpin and those opposing him must know that,” Onyancha said.
“He has united Kisii county people by allocating resources fairly and we remain behind him. He is a leader with compassion and vision. After all, he is a man of the people and will get reelected,” he added.
Mr Siko on his part urged Ongwae to reach his colleagues from Nyamira County to form a formidable force that could fight for the interest of Omogusii.
“The Governor has been tested and qualified and this is the time he should be working with his Nyamira counterparts to foster growth in Kisii. He is undisputed king and the challenge he is facing was waged by those who are anti-development,” he said.
