The county boss said once the facility will be complete, the mortuary will be able to accommodate 20 bodies.

“Transport costs of bodies to and from the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital will be minimized because locals will be able to keep the bodies of their loved ones who lose their lives at Gucha Level 4 hospital here in Ogembo," he said.

"The facility will also have a modern kitchen where foods for patients and the hospital staff will be prepared from,” he added.

Ongwae assured residents that his government will not misuse and misappropriate funds meant for improving health centres across the county.

“I and my deputy governor Joash Maangi we have agreed that no funds will be spent on ghost projects. Cartels with plans to derail our development projects will not be spared by the law because each project will be allocated funds to ensure the projects are completed within a stipulated time so that residents can benefit from the projects without delay,” he noted.

He challenged contractors to ensure tenders are completed in time failure to which they will be blacklisted.
