Kisii Governor James Ongwae has waged a major tussle with Jubilee aspirants by sponsoring opposition campaigns in the region.
Having been appointed to lead the campaigns, Ongwae has been holding major rallies alongside ODM leaders in the region which was earmarked by Jubilee strategists as a swing county.
Last year in his political rallies, Ongwae vowed to single handedly sponsor Raila Odinga campaigns and has been joined with aspiring Senator Sam Ongeri and nominated senator Janet Ongera.
In less than a month and unlike their Nyamira Counterparts, the team has held a record fifteen well attended rallies.
Unlike the NASA team, Jubilee aspirants have been campaigning separately with sources indicating that the party headquarters was yet to disburse campaign materials to the region.
Earlier, there were claims that the team led by governorship spirant Chris Obure had been barred from accessing State House to present their case.
However, some sources close to Jubilee campaigns have intimated that the team’s financial crisis was solved on Thursday through the aid f former powerful minister Simon Nyachae.
Ongwae is facing a stiff challenge from Obure of Jubilee, Manson Nyamweya of KNC and Patrick Lumumba who is riding on Wiper Party.
