Kisii County governor James Ongwae has been accused for failing to end graft in his administration.
A section of residents among them traders said Ongwae is a failure.
"Ongwae has kept quiet as MCAs, Chief Officers and Ministers are misusing public funds to go for foreign trips yet there are several other projects that have stalled in the county," said Geoffrey Omache.
Omache said the money being used by county staff to go trips could be used to initiate development projects.
"The National government allocated Sh800 million for the construction of a modern Daraja Mbili market , but ward representatives, Chief Officers and ministers have decided to spend that money to fill their stomachs," he noted.
Isaac Omotari said health facilities lack drugs but there is money for the MCAs to waste.
"We are aware the MCAs, Chief Officers and ministers are on a week long induction retreat in Mombasa and abandoned big hotels within Kisii where they could have gone for induction. The resources being wasted could have been used to buy more drugs, drill boreholes to ensure there is plenty water supply in the County," he said.
