Residents of Kisii county have expressed their disappointment due to the failed projects in the county.
The residents said Kisii county governor James Ongwae has done nothing since he was first elected in 2013.
James Mokaya accused the county administration of failing to set up an avocado factory as early promised.
"Ongwae promised to ensure the avocado factory is complete and operational before the end of his first term. The construction of the factory has not started. I am afraid if he is going to complete the project after in his second term", said Mokaya.
Edinah Okeyo, a trader at Daraja Mbili market said no upgrade works have been done in the market despite the promise Ongwae made.
"We were promised that the market will be upgraded and better stalls build. Nothing has been done. We have been shortchanged with this corrupt administration", she noted.
She added that during heavy rains, customers keep off the market due to mud and floods.
"During heavy rains, traders incur losses since the customers don't access the market to buy because of mud and floods", she said.
The residents said feeder roads deep in villages are poor and impassable especially during this rainy season.
