Kisii Governor James Ongwae has been accused of having 'ill-plans' to fill the positions of Chief officers for Trade, Industry, and Tourism, Education, Labor, and Manpower.

This is after the governor said the appointments of persons to serve in the positions had issues and will be filled once the issues are solved.

County residents now want answers as to why the appointments should be put on hold, yet other departments have been filled.

“We voted in Ongwae and he should know we are his employers. Pending the appointments of the two departments means he wants to give the posts to his close associates and that of his deputy governor,” complained Goerge Orogo, a primary school teacher.

According to a county employee who requested for anonymity, the governor failed to ensure the appointments balance in all regions.

“The appointments of chief officers was not free and fair since there was bribery and close associates were considered. County residents especially those regions that voted for Jubilee were given a raw deal,” said the source.

The source accused the governor of failing to consult and hold public participation for residents to give views before the appointments are made.

“No views were given from residents before the appointments were made. The governor’s appointments were unconstitutional,” noted the source.

Chief officers for other departments were on Tuesday sworn into office to start serving as the governor starts his second term.
