Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has praised the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) for the perfect work they are doing in various counties.

"This is part of the society that offers the best. I appreciate their work more so in addressing disaster management, healthcare and education issues across the country,"said Ongwae.

However, he stated that they will continue with their partnership so as to provide the required services.

He spoke this on Tuesday when he flagged off 16,500 pairs of shoes set to be given to pupils in 45 schools across the county under the office of the First Lady Elizabeth Ongwae.

"We will continue with our partnerships in health, human development,water, sanitation and education. My government and the Red Cross Society will establish partnerships for efficient services," he added.

Mrs Ongwae has been engaging in programs that ensure children from humble backgrounds stay in school so as to improve the transition rate from primary to secondary school.
