Kisii county Governor, James Ongwae has promised to improve the lives of the people of Kisii.
Speaking during the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) that was held on 26 March in Kakamega county, he promised to improve tourism, agriculture, education, infrastructure, improved water and health services.
He further urged the Lake region counties to work together to improve the economic state of these counties in order to stabilise the lives of over 14 millions peoples who live in these counties.
"Kisii will soon have the best resources for its people. I will ensure before my term ends that I have improved lives," Ongwae said.
Kisii county has over the past been hit by poor sewage systems which contaminated the rivers in the region.
Water shortages have still been a major challenge in the county.
The LREB meeting brings together 14 counties that are geographically positioned around Lake Victor.
The counties signed an agreement to catalyze economic and social growth within the lake region.
