Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has refuted claims that he has been derailing development projects in Mokwerero ward in Kisii County.
This comes after the area MCA Geoffrey Ombui accused Ongwae of failing to allocate funds for the construction of Rianchore Youth Polytechnic, last week.
According to Ongwae, he is committed to ensure projects which are being funded by the county government get funds for construction works.
“I should not be blamed for the failed projects not only in Mokwerero but also across the wards in the county because the funds we are receiving from the national government are not enough to fund all projects. We are trying to minimise the few funds we receive to ensure projects which have already been launched are completed in time without delay,” he said.
He called on Mokwerero ward MCA Geoffrey Ombui to be patient because Rianchore Youth Polytechnic is among the projects which will receive funds for construction.
“No project will be left out as long as it is a county-funded project. My administration is focused on looking for donors to give funds so that we can complete all the projects before my second term ends in 2022,” he added.
