Kisii Governor James Ongwae yesterday hit out at candidates campaigning for his seat saying detractors saying his development record was an open book for all of them to see.
He said those always trying to paint him as doomed will fail in their machinations.
" They have nothing to offer as they go round deceiving you," he said.
He said will steadfastly focus on fulfilling his development agenda for the region and no amount of criticism will distract him.
"Let them go on but I know people are wise enough to discern their evil plans against me," said Governor Ongwae. He was speaking on Sunday during a church service at Getembe COG during a dedication service for a new chapel.Mr Ongwae told the electorate to ignore his critic saying he will be forging on till he finishes fulfilling his manifesto." It does not bother me anyway because I know when people want to kill a dog they call it bad names first. You don't have to heed them," said Mr Ongwae. But separately front runner candidate in the region's governorship Chris Obure said Mr Ongwae's perceived development record was but a mirage."There is definitely a lot that has gone bad since he took over. Infrastructure is falling apart, our hospitals are in bad shape and he has the audacity to say he has a lot," he said.He also said the opposition was no-longer popular in Kisii county the way it was between 2007 and 2013.
